After living in France and working with Picasso and Braque, Cubism's inventors, Weber returned to Manhattan in 1908, painting in the cubist style for ten years.
Weber was one of the first American artists to adapt the principles of European modernism to specifically American subject matter. He also helped articulate the notion of a fourth dimension, or the extension of space into a realm imperceptible by human senses
