Charles Paul Jean-Baptiste de Bourgevin Vialart de Saint-Morys
(Paris, 1743 - 1795, Ile d'Houat (Morbihan))
Saint-Morys is best known as a passionate and discriminating collector of Old Master drawings. Like a number of amateurs in the 18th century, he also experimented with printmaking, apparently for his own satisfaction.
Most of Saint-Morys’s drawings were seized after his death for the new national museum (later Louvre).
