Sidney Tushingham
19th century
(Burslem, England, 1884 - 1968, Hayward's Heath, England)

Tushingham attended the Burslem School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London and exhibited at the Royal Academy. His views of European cities with their monuments strategically framed by flanking buildings or grand arches and animated by local townsfolk and livestock serve as picturesque souvenirs of the grand tour for collectors during the interwar period. He did not begin making prints until 1919, and the first three years of his production were published in the first volume of a catalogue raisonné. There was a second volume published in 1929.
