Domenico was a sculptor of Florentine origin and long activity in France at Troyes. From 1539 until 1565, he also participated in the decoration of François I’s palace at Fontainebleau and, probably during the 1540s, engraved around two dozen, mostly reproductive plates. These are in contrast to the numerous and more familiar etchings of the school
