Mary Callery was an American sculptor known for her abstract, playful figures. She studied at the Art Students League of New York, and from 1930 to 1940 she lived in Paris, where she befriended Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, and other European artists. In 1945, she joined the summer faculty at Black Mountain College. She kept studios in New York City, Huntington, Long Island, and Paris.
