Like his engravings, many of Cherubino Alberti’s drawings interpret compositions and often disassociated motifs in venerable early sixteenth-century Roman examples. Characteristic, this study derives from Raphael’s fresco of the Dispute over the Holy Sacrament in the Stanza della Segnatura.
