In "Romance", Margaret García suspends chilis, a fork, and red pumps in a sea of brilliant yellow. A tale of seduction can be quickly deduced by her placement of these inanimate objects. Her use of chili peppers—attractive in their bright colors and spicy taste—helps convey what she believes are, "the first stages of romance. . . something that feels so good can burn so bad.”
