During the 1560s, Bergamasco collaborated so closely and constantly with Genoa’s most advanced native artist, Luca Cambiaso, and they so influenced one another that their styles in painting and drawing can be difficult to distinguish. Similar to a motif in the decoration of the Palazzo Imperiale di piazza Campetto, this study evinces that collaboration and influence in its swift and approximative calligraphy.
