An industrial complex appears frozen in utter silence and stillness. In Across the Tracks, Niles Spencer presents an industrial scene composed of simple geometric forms deriving from the cylinder and cube. The artist has removed all that is superfluous, which, along with his application of monochromatic grays and browns, shortens the painting’s field of depth
